PLANSEE Thermal
Management Solutions

PLANSEE
Thermal Management Solutions is a leading manufacturer
of controlled expansion, high thermal conductivity metal
matrix composites, ceramics and packages/assemblies.
PTMS is located in San Diego, California. The company is
owned by the PLANSEE Group with headquarters in Reutte/Austria.
PTMS's
in-house materials include
copper-tungsten
(CuW),
molybdenum-copper (MoCu), laminates,
and alumina. We offer these materials for heat sinks,
heat spreaders, and electronics packages. We serve
customers in industries such as opto-electronics, power
electronics, aerospace and defense, telecommunication,
microelectronics and others.
PTMS is a
vertically integrated manufacturing company. We produce
our own CuW, MoW and silver-kovar, and complement the
materials with products such as
Cu/MoCu/Cu laminates,
and pure Mo or W
from other PLANSEE companies. Pure Cu, Alloy 42, kovar
and various aluminum composites (AlGr and AlSi) are
procured from strategic external suppliers. We also
produce our own proprietary high temperature, co-fired
ceramics in black or white body on site. Our in-house
plating and brazing capabilities allow us to offer
comprehensive solutions for a large variety of thermal
management applications. Our materials lab enables us to
respond quickly to development and analytical needs. All
our activities are supported by an experienced
engineering staff.
This
unique vertical integration simplifies the supply chain,
offering our customers more flexibility and interaction
in the design and manufacture of their products. PTMS
takes great pride in the quality of our products and
services. Our objective is to offer our customers a
competitive total cost of ownership advantage that
allows them to compete effectively in their markets.
The PLANSEE Group is
comprised of 62 companies in 22 countries. Ignoring
different shares of ownership, the Group generated sales
of 1.3 billion Euros in fiscal year 2005/06. The PLANSEE
Group employs approximately 8,500 people. PLANSEE
operates three divisions: the PLANSEE High Performance
Materials division, the Ceratizit division with a focus
on hard metals and tools, and the PMG division with a
focus on ferrous powder-metal products. PTMS is part of
the PLANSEE High Performance Materials division |
